Programs & Services
In our ongoing quest for health equity, our calendar year features a bi-weekly podcast and a bi-weekly professional newsletter, complemented by three pivotal initiatives strategically designed to spotlight and address critical disparities within our communities.
Signature Events & Programs
Breast Health Awareness
With the arrival of October, our focus sharpens on Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Pink ribbons unfurl across the landscape, signaling a united front against breast cancer. Through advocacy, education, and early detection initiatives, we strive to bridge gaps in breast cancer outcomes, ensuring equitable access to screening, treatment, and support services for all individuals, regardless of race or socioeconomic status.
Happy Hour Hikes for Heart Health
The Black Health Lit Happy Hour Hike is a monthly event held every third Thursday from May through October, aimed at improving cardiovascular health and mental well-being through group hiking in nature. This initiative promotes physical activity while fostering a sense of community among participants. By encouraging regular exercise and outdoor engagement, the hike helps reduce stress, boost mental clarity, and strengthen heart health.
